About the photos - Ben's notes
The 2003 images (apart from those at Heathrow) were taken with a 2-megapixel Sony CyberShot DSC-P31 digital camera. As I don't (yet) see myself as a photographer, I wanted a point and shoot digital camera that used AA batteries (as lithium batteries work reasonably well in the cold) and took short videos in MPEG format (for transmission via satellite phone).
Considering my lack of skill, and the fact I didn't even set up the white balance, I'm pretty pleased with the results.
Apart from Tore Johansen's helicopter shot, Pen Hadow took the 2001 photos using a Nikon FM1.
