I spent a couple of months underneath the Polar Ice as part of a US Navy Under Ice Expedition in the 1970's. My few hours on the surface at the North Pole convinced me that life onboard a submarine actually DID have a lot to offer (such as HEAT)! Be careful and good luck!

Wow, I must say, this is quite an endeavor that certainly deserves many words of encouragement. I know that it has been said already, but I wish you only the best of luck on your trek across the North Atlantic. I am a UCLA college student who stumbled upon this site by accident, and I have been glued to my computer for the last hour. I am very much looking forward to following your progress day by day. It will be so amazing to think that while I am in sunny Los Angeles, you will be risking your life thousands of miles north. but, whenever you can, write some words about how do you feel.. trip, places things that you see, things that you do; how is the feeling when being alone and experiencing things that you do.
